Whether photographing persons, objects or landscapes, I prefer to build a personal encounter with the subject and develop the work from the impressions that emerge through that experience. Rather than relying on default settings or a comfort zone that keeps the process easier and more repeatable, I’m interested in allowing each image to find its own direction and character. I don’t avoid the uncertainty of working on set; I let the encounter move me outside of familiar approaches, because that is where the vision usually happens. Born in 1983 in Isfahan, Iran, I have been based in Florence, Italy since 2010. I hold a B.A. in Arts and an M.A. in Drama Studies from the University of Florence.
